The meeting will touch on the specifics of your vision, assessing factors such as your preferred design style, budget, timeline, and any unique considerations pertinent to the project. This initial consultation is crucial in defining the groundwork for a transparent, collaborative working relationship, allowing Trucarpentry to create a tailored plan to transform your ideas into tangible reality.
Blueprints/Orientation & Site Planning
The Blueprint/Orientation and Site Planning stage with Trucarpentry is where the fun really begins. Beginning with your ideas from the discovery meeting, and in collaboration with designers, we will prepare blueprints that show what your project will look like and how it will be oriented on the building lot.
We will review them together and tweak anything that needs adjustment until it’s exactly what you want. Then we will get a lay of the land – literally. Site planning, orientation of the structure and foresight will set the project up for success. The whole point is to make sure that when construction begins, everything runs smoothly. This is the time to double-check everything before the real work starts!

Ground Work & Laying the Foundation

Ground work and Laying the Foundation is where things start getting real with Trucarpentry. First, excavators will prep the site, clearing it of any obstacles and levelling the ground. Then, they dig the trenches for the foundation. Once that is done, the elevations are checked, footing forms are set in place, and the concrete is poured to establish the solid base of your structure. The foundation is often completed is 2 or 3 phases consisting of footings, walls and then concrete slabs. Each phase is a critical step, building on the previous steps which will ultimately be combined into a fully developed solid foundation upon which we can construct your home. During this phase all of the underground infrastructure (ie. plumbing, electrical, ground water control, vapour barrier) is completed.
Care Factor & Construction
The Main Construction stage is where the Trucarpentry Care Factor really kicks into high gear. It is all about bringing your blueprints to life while making sure every single detail is taken care of. The Tru crew gets to work, installing smart membranes, sealing off perforations through the building envelope, installing floor systems, putting up walls, installing the roof, and fitting the doors and windows. It’s more than just hammering nails – they pay attention to every little detail, because it’s those details that make your building unique. Due care and diligence coupled with tenacity is the only way to build a home that exceeds the most stringent energy efficiency expectations, while showcasing the skill and craftsmanship of our tradespeople. Plus, they’re all about keeping the site safe and clean, because they respect your space. It might get a bit noisy and dusty, but they’ll be working their hardest to build your dream structure right here in beautiful New Brunswick.
